How It Works

1

Detect Spending Ramps

We scan quarterly lobbying disclosures from the Senate Office of Public Records and flag companies whose spend increased 15% or more quarter-over-quarter.

2

Score Each Ramp

Each ramp is scored on four dimensions: magnitude of increase, absolute spend level, alignment with our tracked sectors, and whether lobbying is newly initiated.

3

Watch for Catalysts

Historically, lobbying ramps have preceded contract awards and policy outcomes by an average of ~4 months. Higher scores indicate stronger leading patterns.

Data Source

Lobbying disclosure data is sourced from the Senate Office of Public Records (SOPR) via automated quarterly scans. Lead indicator scoring is proprietary. Records are refreshed each quarter when new filings are published. Not all lobbying activity results in identifiable catalysts.
